Partnered with Hitachi to deliver nine tri-mode trains for our Grand Central fleet. Representing an investment of £300 million, tri-mode trains can be powered using electricity, battery or diesel. Investing in new battery hybrid train fleet for Grand Central in the UK.
Signed a partnership with Škoda for €300 million to supply new electric trains in Czech Republic. The partnership will deliver 22 modern electric trains capable of reaching speeds of up to 200 km/h. Partnership with Skoda in Czechia to deliver 22 high speed electric trains.

Chiltern Railways in the UK introduced first hybrid train into passenger service. Each journey delivers a 25 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions and nitrogen oxide and pollutants are also cut by 70 and 90 per cent respectively.

Together with Stadler, we developed a world-first: a hybrid train that uses diesel engines and recuperation batteries that can be converted to zero-emission and introduced the first train into passenger service in 2020 reducing CO2 emissions by 89%.
