Arriva’s Zero Emission Centre of Excellence

Our Centre of Excellence is an important step forward in how we deliver our zero-emission ambitions across the UK and mainland Europe. Arriva is sharpening its approach to transitioning its fleet – bringing greater focus, consistency and pace to the rollout of zero-emission buses, while continuing to empower local teams to lead delivery on the ground. The Centre of Excellence has been established to provide clear strategic direction, ensure robust zero-emission standards, and coordinate activity across a growing and increasingly complex portfolio of zero emission projects. In doing so, it supports Arriva’s ambition to align its operations with ESG targets to support the EU and UK towards a net-zero transport system by 2050.

We work with passenger transport authorities towards shared goals, developing long-term plans to select the right clean fuels, technologies and infrastructure for each city and region.

Decarbonisation requires long-term planning to ensure the right stakeholders are engaged early in the process.

Working in partnership with public transport authorities and municipalities

Efficient public transport should be interconnected so it keeps people moving. This also requires long-term planning to ensure public transport is prioritised over other road users.
